Ok, Colleen Sherman...

My typical morning routine is something like this: wake up, start coffee maker, hop in shower, press play on the Sara Bareilles CD, get dressed, and check Ashley Forrette's blog. Now, she already was an inspirational person to me before I began religiously following her daily activities, but now that I get to read her public journal everyday, I can't help but think the phrase W.W.A.D. (What Would A-Dawg Do.) I love Chicago so much, and our life here is incredible, but she is the only thing I honestly regret missing out on by deciding not to move to San Fransisco. :( Because of that philosophy I took her (and many others) recommendation to try this revolutionary step by step tutorial. And after all the fuss from the other girls and how gorgeous they looked (not that they weren't gorgeous before), I just had to follow the amazing make-up queen, Colleen Sherman and her instructions on how to beautify!!! (pardon my sub-par photo skills ladies, you really are all incredibly talented!)

Here we go:
I have a mix of brands of make-ups that may or may not be the best route. Sometimes I will buy expensive brand names of a light foundation but compliment that with cover girl powder or eye-shadows. I try to find a less expensive alternative so that I don't break the bank with my beauty essentials! :) My favorite cheap buy right now are those little loose mineral imitation brands from Charolette Russe, they are decent, but it feels weird to say I buy my make-up from a cheap clothing store. But, c'mon they are right there by the register, it's one of those impulse buys that I just can't pass up if it's only 4 bucks!

Step 1:
All over tinted moisturizer, I usually don't wear heavy foundation, and concealer. This is a really strange pic of me...

Step 2:
3/4 dark color outer to inner. I too seemed to struggle with this step, I think it's one of those that we need to practice...
Step 3:
Shimmer light color from inner to outer, right? I should have had the manual up on my computer while I did it, but I felt I might be able to wing it... maybe a mistake now! :)
Step 4:
Liner and mascara. A tip I got from this gay guy that was giving me a makeover one day (I know) is that you should always look down to get the tips of the lashes first and then wiggle the brush up the lashes from base of lash to tip. That way they get full coverage without clumping.
I don't really notice a difference, but he seemed to know what he was talking about and had the most beautiful eye make-up I had ever seen so...haha

After all is said and done I like to think it turned out pretty good. The Colleen Sherman way is definitely complimentary on many eye shapes and beautifully described in her blog. Girls, you were right, she absolutely knows what she is doing! Thanks Colleen!
(Had to do one more just for the narcissism trend!)

Oh and, I LOVE YOU ASHLEY!!! WE MISS YOU SO MUCH!
